A gentle glow, cared for.
Make caring for your candle part of caring for yourself. These simple steps help you enjoy your ritual safely.
Before you light
- Trim cotton wicks to 1/4″; wood wicks to 1/8″–3/16″.
- Clear all trimmings, matches and debris from the wax.
- Use a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts and flammable objects.
Stay with the glow
- Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep it in sight and away from children and pets.
- Burn for no more than 3 hours at a time. Never use it while sleeping.
- Do not touch or move a burning candle or liquid wax. Keep lit candles at least 12″ apart.
Close your ritual
- Use a candle snuffer. Never extinguish with water.
- Check that the flame and wick ember are fully out. Let the candle cool before touching; wait at least 2 hours before relighting.
- Stop using the candle when 1/2″ of wax remains.
If the flame becomes too high or flickers repeatedly: extinguish it, allow the candle to cool, trim the wick and check for drafts before lighting again. Always follow the safety label on your candle.
